Ebonised Elm Pedestal Dining Table

This solid Elm dining table was all about that show stopping Scottish Elm. We kept the overall form simple and focussed on sourcing some really special timber and constructing a table to place it front and centre, book matching the slabs to excentuate the swirling grain patterns. A ll the surface knots and cracks are patched and bow tied to show the makers hand.

Pictured here before and after we ebonised it. Finally treated to a cocktail of waxes and oils, we polished this one up to give a gentle sheen and an amazing depth of colour to show off that incredible grain.

This has gone in to a truly breathtaking kitchen and living space and forms the focal point of an amazing entertaining space. Seating 10-12 it should play host to some excellent parties. Exactly the kind of life we hope for, for the furniture leaving our workshop.

Patinated brass fixings.
